Because every writer needs an editor.

Developmental Editing

Have an idea for a story, article, or other writing project, but don't know how to go about putting the words down? As developmental editors, we will help you make a working plan for bringing your project into the world. We can also help with major revisions, if you have a piece of writing that needs an overhaul.

Copy Editing

Once your draft is complete, you may need help at the sentence or paragraph level, to ensure your work conveys your argument or your creative vision as effectively as possible. Line editing (AKA copy editing) focuses on the sentence and paragraph level, addressing things like logic, syntax, sentence variety, and word choice.

Proofreading

Congratulations, your article, essay or book manuscript is ready for submission! You will sleep better after hitting “send” if you know that your work has been proofread for misspellings, punctuation errors, and other mistakes.

Editing for ESL speakers

Most non-native English users write better in English than they realize, because they think twice about things that native speakers take for granted. But we can still help you smooth out rough idioms, avoid cross-cultural misunderstandings, and make your writing sound more like American English.

Honest and fearless

E2i can take the whole story, or the complicated ideas and process behind and artwork, and get to the essential ideas. Through their observations and questions, I am able to clarify what I want to say in writing. they worked with me from conceptualizing the book, to editing, to fine tuning the edits, and at every step of the way I felt their attention and expertise serving me to make my best work.

My voice remains in it, but everything is just better.

“My book A Collection of Improving Exercises needed the narrative voice of a bloviating quasi-academic writing a perspective-drawing manual in the 1920s. E2i made the words I wrote resemble the text that existed in my head. … They also played my game Reverse Minesweeper so they could better understand the rules and, in turn, more accurately translate my procedural instructions into a solid rules document. That's dedication. … For my games Thousand Year Old Campfire and A Sargasso Sea of Space, they figured out what I was trying to do, clarified their understanding by talking with me, then made improvements. They always explain their proposed changes in language I can understand. ... I am still in control of each game and my voice remains in it, but everything is just better.”

Weary wordsmith seeking editorial excellence, look no further!

“Working with E2 Industries for my RPG adventure was a joy. Whalgravaak's Warehouse is a decidedly non-standard text in a non-standard field. ... The editors were able to understand the tone and themes that I was shooting for, made the style consistent, then helped me to reinforce them at every step, not to mention assisting me with meeting a strict word limit. Before I knew it, the main hurdles for publication were behind me. At all points E2i were professional while remaining approachable and friendly. Weary wordsmith seeking editorial excellence, look no further!”

In the top tier of editors I’ve worked with.

They make sure that they understand the context of the work and the type of feedback needed. They helped me identify some big issues I’d overlooked, pointing out weak spots, and they did so in a manner that left me itching to revise rather than feeling discouraged. I’m looking forward to working with them on the next project.
